WCC Pedagogy Workshop: Teaching Idea Exchange

Do you have an in-class activity that always works to get students talking? A tried-and-true strategy for helping students learn vocabulary? An assignment that you actually look forward to grading? Or do you want to learn about others’ excellent pedagogical ideas? 

Join a community of pedagogy practitioners for a teaching idea exchange workshop, as we prepare to refresh our teaching for the new school year! We strongly believe that the best teaching is practiced in community with other like-minded educators. Participating in engaged and supportive communities of practice can help us cultivate joy and avoid burnout, inside and outside the classroom.

In this 90-minute workshop, participants will have the opportunity to swap strategies, activities, assignments, and more with other instructors teaching courses at all levels in the area of Classics/Ancient Mediterranean Studies. Participants are encouraged to come with an idea to share (preferably, bite-sized enough that it can be explained in about 5 minutes or less). In addition to sharing ideas verbally, participants will also receive instructions for producing a written version of their idea to share asynchronously, if they wish, which will be shared with all those who register.
